Last weekend at the National Wedding Show in London, we were posed a challenge. One of the attendees said we couldn’t do a Wedding marryoke to house music. That it just wouldn’t work. At first we thought they were right and it had us stumped.

So, over a pint after the show a few old skool titles started coming back to us; Rozalla ‘Everybody’s Free’, Corona ‘Rhythm of the Night’ or even Cher ‘Believe’. Our favourite at first was Sonique ‘It Feels So Good’ the lyrics go well with a wedding theme “your loving feels so good”. But popping up out of the depths of our came Baby D with ‘Let Me Be Your Fantasy’, a truly classic lyrically rich house tune.

However it was not until we slept on it, that we think, we came up with the best house tune for Wedding marryokes. It was triggered by Modjo ‘Lady (Hear Me Tonight)’, a great tune, but we didn’t think it had enough lyrics for our crown. Then into sight came Moloko, ‘Sing It Back’. This had us jumping in the office and would have taken the prize if hadn’t been for a very tall DJ called Spiller and the lovely Sophie Ellis Bexter. Yes romping away with the best house tune for Wedding marryokes is ‘Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love)’. Wonderful lyrics and a tune that would get the whole family dancing.

I’m sure there must be some deserving tunes/remixes we’ve not considered. What would be yours?
